Paradise is the unincorporated town in Clark County that holds the Las Vegas Strip, UNLV and Harry Reid International Airport — and a lot of homes most visitors never see. The mid-century houses of Paradise Palms, the guard-gated estates of the Las Vegas Country Club, the rentals and condos of the University District around UNLV and Maryland Parkway, and the tract neighborhoods around Sunset Park and south of the airport are all Paradise. The ZIP codes are 89109, 89119, 89120, 89121, 89123 and 89169.
Our office is on West Desert Inn Road, a short drive across I-15 from most of Paradise. We answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call (702) 556-4812 and a licensed HVAC technician (NV license #0081345) will find the problem and give you the price in writing before work starts.
We already work in your neighborhood
Our job records show more than 1,600 completed jobs for more than 1,200 households in Paradise’s ZIP codes since 2017, and more than 350 in the last 12 months. That count includes air conditioning, heating and plumbing — we are one company licensed in both trades, so one call covers the AC and the water heater.
What breaks here, and why
Paradise has some of the oldest housing in the valley next to some of the newest, and the air conditioning looks very different from one to the other.
Paradise Palms and other 1960s mid-century homes. Low-slope roofs and little or no attic mean the equipment often lives on the roof as a single rooftop package unit, with ductwork in a tight space above the ceiling. Replacing one is not the same as replacing a split system: the new unit has to fit the existing roof curb or be adapted to it, the ductwork connections have to seal, and it usually goes up by crane. Owners of these homes also care about how the equipment looks from the street. We can talk through low-profile options and whether a split system or ductless mini-split makes more sense for part of the house.
Las Vegas Country Club (1960s and 1970s). Larger homes, often with two or more systems of different ages, and a guard gate with its own rules for contractors and for visible equipment. It is common to find one system recently replaced and another far past its prime. We look at both and tell you which one is actually costing you money.
University District and the condos around UNLV. Many of these are rentals with small closet air handlers, condensers on the roof or a shared pad, and tenants who need the AC fixed today. We work with landlords and property managers — tell us who authorizes the work and who pays, and we will send the written estimate to the right person.
Sunset Park and south of the airport (1980s through 2000s tract homes). Mostly split systems: a condenser on the ground and an air handler or gas furnace in the attic or a closet. The attic in a Vegas summer is far hotter than the outdoor air, which is hard on blower motors and capacitors, and a clogged condensate drain there ends up as a stain on the ceiling.
Across all of Paradise: heat and dust. Summer afternoons regularly pass 110°F, and the condenser has to push heat out into that air. A dirty outdoor coil, a failing capacitor or a slow refrigerant leak will show up on the hottest day first. See AC blowing warm air for the common causes.

Common questions
Can you replace a rooftop AC unit on a mid-century Paradise Palms home?
Yes. Rooftop package units are common on 1960s low-slope homes. We match the new unit to the existing roof curb or adapt it, reconnect and seal the ducts, and give you the full price in writing — including any crane lift — before we start. Call (702) 556-4812.
Do you work with landlords and property managers near UNLV?
Yes. Tell us who authorizes the repair and who pays. We send the written estimate to that person and coordinate access with the tenant. Service is available 24/7.
My AC runs all afternoon and the house never cools. Why?
In Paradise the usual causes are a dirty outdoor coil, a low refrigerant charge from a leak, leaky ducts in a hot ceiling or attic, or a system that is simply undersized for the house. We test before we recommend, and repairs carry a 1-year labor warranty (limitations apply).
Do you service homes inside the Las Vegas Country Club?
Yes. Give us the gate instructions or add us to your guest list when you call, and let us know about any association rules for visible equipment before we quote a replacement.
Should I repair or replace an older system?
It depends on the age of the unit, the size of the repair and what else is wearing out. We give you both prices in writing so you can compare them. Care Plus members pay $0 for the diagnostic. For payment options on a replacement, ask our office.
Do you also do plumbing?
Yes. Excellence Air & Plumbing holds HVAC license #0081345 and plumbing license #0090251, so the same company can handle both.
