Henderson started in the 1940s as housing for the Basic Magnesium plant, and you can still read that history street by street. The small townsite homes sit near Water Street. Green Valley North and Green Valley South filled in through the 1980s and 1990s, with Whitney Ranch and Mission Hills nearby. Then came Green Valley Ranch, Seven Hills, MacDonald Highlands and Anthem in the foothills, Inspirada off St. Rose Parkway, and Lake Las Vegas and Cadence out east toward Black Mountain.
AC quit on a 112-degree afternoon? Call (702) 556-4812. A person picks up day or night, and an HVAC technician licensed under NV #0081345 comes out, finds the fault, and writes the price down for you to approve first.
Henderson is one of our busiest cities
Since 2017 our records show more than 3,500 finished jobs at more than 2,600 Henderson addresses, and more than 550 in the past 12 months. More than 8 in 10 of those jobs were for heating-and-air customers. The table further down breaks it out by ZIP code. Green Valley South (89074) is where we have worked the most.
Emergency AC repair in Henderson
Call right away if you notice any of these:
- Warm air from the vents, or no air moving at all
- The outdoor unit hums but the fan won’t spin
- Ice on the copper lines, or water pooling around the indoor unit
- The system shuts off and restarts every few minutes
- A burning smell or a breaker that keeps tripping
On a no-cooling call we check power, the capacitor and contactor, the fan motors, the refrigerant charge and the condensate drain. Those cover most of what fails in July. If a part has to be ordered, we say so up front and tell you when it will be in. See emergency HVAC service and AC blowing warm air.
What wears out in each part of Henderson
Water Street and the old townsite (89015). Many of these homes were built before central air was normal. Ducts often run through a tight ceiling space, and returns tend to be too small, so the system strains no matter what brand sits outside. Better airflow can matter more here than a bigger unit. See ductwork repair and installation.
Green Valley North and South, Whitney Ranch, Mission Hills (89014, 89074). These houses are mostly on their second or third condenser, but the attic flex duct is often original and coming apart at the collars. Units installed before about 2010 typically use R-22. New R-22 stopped being made in 2020, so a leak on one of these systems usually means weighing a repair against a new system.
Seven Hills, Green Valley Ranch, MacDonald Highlands and Anthem (89012, 89052). Two-story homes from the late 1990s and 2000s, many still running the builder’s original equipment. The air handler lives in the attic, where heat cooks blower motors and capacitors. A plugged condensate line shows up as a brown ring on the upstairs ceiling. Anthem sits several hundred feet above the valley floor, so its winter nights are noticeably colder, and the heating side earns its keep. See Henderson heating service.
Inspirada and the St. Rose Parkway corridor (89044). Most homes here are young enough that the equipment may still carry a manufacturer’s parts warranty. Snap a photo of the data plate on the outdoor unit before you call, and we will check coverage before we price anything.
Lake Las Vegas, Cadence and east Henderson (89011, 89002). Large homes at the lake often run two or three systems plus a casita, and the common complaint is one zone that never matches its thermostat. Cadence is new construction, so warranty checks come first there too.
AC replacement in Henderson
Think about replacing when:
- The system is more than a decade old and the repairs keep stacking up
- It runs R-22 and has a refrigerant leak
- Upstairs and downstairs never feel the same, even after duct repairs
- Your summer power bills climb year after year without a change in how you use the house
We size the new system to your house, its windows and its ductwork, not just to the label on the old unit. You get the repair price and the replacement price side by side, both in writing. Many Henderson associations have rules about outdoor equipment, so we put the model and dimensions on paper for your HOA. We install Rheem (we are a Rheem Pro Partner) and American Standard (authorized dealer). See AC installation and replacement. For payment options on a new system, ask our office about financing.
Ductless mini-splits for casitas, garages and add-ons
Henderson has plenty of casitas, converted garages and bonus rooms that the main system was never designed to cool. A ductless mini-split handles one room on its own thermostat without new ductwork. We also repair existing mini-splits: indoor heads that stop responding, drain leaks, error codes and zones that won’t hold temperature.

Henderson AC questions
How fast can you get to Anthem or Inspirada in the evening?
It depends on how many calls are ahead of yours. We tell you honestly on the phone. Anthem and Inspirada are at the far south end of the city, so give us the gate details when you call and we won’t lose time at the entrance.
My upstairs in Seven Hills won’t drop below 80. Is the AC too small?
Usually not. In two-story Henderson homes the cause is more often the attic air handler, a choked return or a disconnected duct upstairs. We measure airflow before we recommend any new equipment.
My Inspirada or Cadence home is only a few years old. Is the AC still under warranty?
Possibly. Send a photo of the outdoor unit’s data plate or read us the model and serial number. We check manufacturer coverage before we quote.
Does my HOA have to approve a new condenser?
Moving or upsizing outdoor equipment often needs approval in Henderson associations. A like-for-like swap in the same spot is usually simpler. We give you the specs in writing either way.
My AC still runs R-22. Repair or replace?
A failed capacitor or fan motor is worth fixing on almost any system. A leak in the coil of an R-22 unit is different: the refrigerant is scarce and expensive, so we price both options and you choose.
Can the same company fix my water heater?
Yes. We also hold plumbing license #0090251. See the Henderson plumber page.
